How does Told work?


To create a book, invite your friends to the platform. Write the questions you'd like to ask them ('What's the funniest thing that Alice has done?"). We'll turn their answer into written text that will form the content of that chapter. You'll be able to edit the text freely. Once these recording are done, you'll be able to select the design/size of the book and it will be shipped in a couple of days ready to gift!




How do I write a book?


Our platform lets your friends use their voice to write a book! Write the questions you'd like to ask them and we'll turn their recordings into text, ready to be published perfectly-bound book.




How long does it take to write a book?


In total the process takes under a week. There are three key steps to creating a book: 1. Invite your friends to the platform to record their answers to your questions. 2. Edit the chapters - this is relatively easy as our software is very accurate at transcribing speech. 3. Select the size/cover of the book. Once that's done you simply checkout and the book will be shipped in a couple of days ready to gift!




How long does it take to recieve the book?


Shipping usually 7-14 days.




How much does it cost?


It will cost less than $50. The price depends on the size of the book and the number of pages.

What types of disability do you cater for?


We offer our service to people with various types of physical disabilities. Here are some examples of the types of conditions that we cater for: Spinal cord injury, MS, amputee, cerebral palsy, stroke, spina bifida and other spinal conditions. If you have a physical disability that is not listed above, please contact us.




Will there be anybody to help me?


Yes. If you don't have someone with you and you need support, we offer personal training sessions. Our trainers are experienced in working with individuals wth all types of physical disabilities. Check out our prices page for more information.




Is there a disabled toilet?


Yes. There is a disabled toilet on-site.




What are your busiest times?


Generally, it is busiest in the morning / early afternoon between 10am & 1pm.

Is there an age limit?


We offer our service to members aged 16yrs+.




Can I bring my carer(s)?


Absolutely. We encourage our members to bring support workers / carers / Personal Assistants to help them with any needs whilst at the gym.




Are you dog friendly?


Service dogs are very welcome at the gym. Unfortunately, at our new site, we cannot allow members to bring pets with them.




Can I bring food and drink?


While we don't allow food and drink to be consumed in the gym area, we have a small kitchen section where members can use the facilities. We have a small social area where family members, friends and support workers etc. can enjoy tea and coffee.




Is parking available?


Yes. A limited number of designated disabled spaces are available in front of the gym. Further parking is also available to the rear of the building.




Is there a first aider on site?


Yes. There will always be one first aider on-site at alll times. We have a comprehensive first aid kit including a defibrillator.




Will I be tied to a monthly contract?


No. Our membership fees are pay as you go, although a 6 month package is available.




What is your cancellation policy?


We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. All of our sessions have to be paid for in advance. If you need to cancei for any reason as long as you do it 24 hours in advance you will not be charged.

Can I bring my own physio?


No. We do not allow anyone to bring their own physiotherapists or personal trainers as we have our own trainers on site. You are however allowed to train with friends, family members and carers as long as they are not charging you.




Are you open weekends?


No. Our current opening hours are 10:00 til 4:15 Monday, Wednesday and Friday.




Will you pop up in my area?


Currently we do pop up sessions in Billingham. We have plans to pop up in the future but nothing concrete at the moment.




Do you have any jobs available?


Currently we are not looking for any new staff but if a candidate comes along, we would be happy to inform them of future openings.




Do you have changing facilities?


We currently don't have changing facilities but there is a large disabled toilet on site that can be used for this purpose.




What clothing should I wear?


We currently don't have a dress code. Please wear any kind of comfortable clothing you can safely exercise in.




How do I book a consultation?


We are hoping to include this option on our website soon. Whilst this is getting constructed, you can temporarily book an induction on our Facebook page or send us an email.




Will I need to transfer from my wheelchair to use the exercise equipment?


There are a couple of pieces of kit that would require you to transfer but we have a wide range of wheelchair accessible equipment where no transfer is necessary. They can be used straight from your wheelchair. A comprehensive workout is absolutely possible without having to tranfer.
